New Balance “The London Cab duo”.

New Balance just opened its new London flagship store on Oxford Street, next to some of the biggest retailers in the world. It is now the largest retail offering from New Balance to date, the 12,572.25 sq. ft. store offers an immersive and interactive brand experience spanning across three floors. All New Balance product categories, including running, training, lifestyle, football, and tennis will be available under one roof.

To celebrate the opening, NB is releasing “The London Cab duo” pack which includes the 1500 and 991. Crafted at the brand’s UK factory in Flimby, the pack take inspiration from the Hackney Carriage taxi, an iconic part of city life. The shoes feature a matte leather upper to reflect the exterior paintwork of the iconic vehicle, together with orange details to symbolise rooftop light, and silver-coloured reflective detailing to represent the chrome bumper. The 1500 and the 991 are both truly iconic shoes from the New Balance back catalogue and have remained firm favourites since their ground-breaking inception as pinnacle running shoes in the 80s.

Senior Footwear Designer at New Balance, Mark Godfrey explains: “we wanted to celebrate the launch of the London store with something iconic, instantly recognisable and true to the city. I liken the shoe to a tourist souvenir…. just much more desirable and better made!”

Retailing at £160 per style, there will be 130 of the 1500 for men and 991 for women manufactured, with only 70 available to purchase from the New Balance Oxford Street store located at 287-291 Oxford Street, at 9:00am on 28th October.
