Nike x Skepta “Sk Air” Event, London.

One thing is certain; the Swoosh knows how to impress when it comes to unveiling a new product. This time, Nike took it to a whole new level with the launch event of the latest collaboration between the brand and Skepta, by re-creating a Moroccan souk style market in London. Special guests were given “money” to be spent at different stalls, to get themselves, food, drinks, but also collab apparels created for the event. The market was tailored to Skepta, with hand picked businesses such as his local corner shop, barber, jeweller, or even his favourite flower shop.

Even though Skepta and his entourage (including members of BBK, Virgil Abloh, and ASAP Rocky) were wandering around the market, the real star of the night was the creation of the British rapper. Inspired by his second home: Marrakesh (Morocco), and featuring details seen on the 1999 Nike Tuned Air, the Nike Air Max 97 Sk designed by Skepta was presented to the public through various installations, all related to the theme behind the campaign. The result is clean, and will be, without a doubt, a future classic.
