3.1 Phillip Lim Men’s SS17 Private Event, London.

During London Fashion Week, 3.1 Phillip Lim unveiled its Men’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection during a private event in their European flagship store in London.

The new collection celebrates the insouciant style of the 3.1 Phillip Lim man – interweaving street-wise sophistication and playful aspiration. His confidence and authority pushes forth unorthodox codes of dressing, creating relevance and inspiring immediacy. The designer’s choices are highly considered with an unapologetic discernment for fit and detail. Silhouettes are nuanced from boyish boxy to sophisticated cool. Hemlines are cropped and turned up with a 1950’s attitude, hinting at his playful outsider nature. Lim’s poetic subversion of uniform dressing challenges convention and traditions. Tailoring is unconstructed, offering a casual interpretation of sartorial dressing. Classic shirting is reimagined in unexpected silhouettes, ranging from kimono-inspired to bowler-style shirts. ‘Night floral’ prints, rendered in a utilitarian color palette, bloom with romantic intrigue, taking on a noir mood. The result is a raw confidence – deftly balanced with a gentlemanly restraint – producing a true reflection of the man behind the brand.

Curated and hosted by Visionarism, the private event aimed at introducing the new collection to a selected few in the Big Smoke. The guests had the opportunity to have a look and to get a feel of the upcoming Men’s selection, while sipping one of the special cocktails prepared by Black Cow Vodka.
